It does not hurt to read this several times.

Born 1776, Died 2008

Professor Joseph Olson of
Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning last November'sPresidential election:
  • Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
  • Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
  • Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
  • Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1
· Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Democrat territory mostly
encompassed those citizens living in low incometenements and living off various forms of government welfare.

Olson believes the
United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase. ;

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the
USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that
apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

WHEN DOSE IT STOP

This is guaranteed to get your blood pressure soaring
Anyone who is not convinced our current President or administration is
about to offer the US to a global world government, should watch this
video.

A book several thousands of years ago spoke of things to come. Never
before in our history could it come to pass... Until now. This is
inevitable, it needs to be a wake up call that Christ, the bible and the
word of God is true. I pray that this opens the eyes of those lost in
the world.

America is one nation under God, we are soon to become, one nation under
man!

Republicans are on the move and it's time we all get involved.
Over the last few weeks Huck PAC has launched a petition drive to bring fiscal responsibility to Washington. As of the date of this message we have collected 139,000 signatures and that number is rising.
We have also launched a Pro-Life Team that should finish with 1,000 Founding members by the end of the month. Our grassroots volunteers are clearly excited and looking for ways to fight back.
Today, our third effort online hits closer to home for you. I hope my fellow conservatives in Indiana will be just as excited by this new online headquarters and consider signing up today.
Thank you for your time.

GOP seeks to strip more ACORN funds

Illinois Republican Rep. Judy Biggert introduced legislation Thursday to strip the community-organizing group of its certification to qualify for federal housing dollars.

“It’s abundantly clear that ACORN and its affiliates cannot be trusted as a federally-certified entity,” Biggert said in a statement. “Given the group’s clear links to illegal and inappropriate activities, how can we knowingly give them federal certification to divert precious resources from legitimate housing counselors working overtime to help struggling homeowners?”

Republicans have been after ACORN for more than a year – they were suspicious of the group’s voter registration efforts on behalf of then-candidate Barack Obama last year. And Republicans have successfully offered amendments to strip money from the ACORN after two conservative filmmakers caught ACORN employees offering tax evasion advice to a fake pimp and prostitute.

The legislation would suspend ACORN’s Housing and Urban Development Department certification as an approved housing counseling agency, a status that allows ACORN to qualify for federal housing grants and helps them raise money from other sources.

And if there was any doubt about how the GOP feels about ACORN, look no futher than the name of Biggert’s bill — the Suspend ACORN Certification Act, which she has shortened to the “SAC” Act.

Galvanized home pipes also big lead source
Friday, October 16, 2009

WASHINGTON — In-home galvanized iron pipes should be considered as potentially important a source of lead in residential drinking water as lead service lines, warns a recently released study from HDR Engineering, Inc. The engineering consulting firm undertook the study at the request of the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC WASA), DC WASA reported in an October 16 media advisory.

In 2008, DC WASA commissioned a study, conducted by HDR, to examine the relationship between lead and iron in drinking water and galvanized systems in a small percentage of District homes. The study was recently presented to the DC WASA Board of Directors Retail Services Committee, and is being prepared for peer review for a scientific journal.

“Although the study has not gone through the lengthy peer review process, the DC WASA staff felt its important findings should be immediately distributed,” the media advisory stated. It noted, “The study states that in-home plumbing, specifically galvanized pipes, may contribute lead to residential drinking water, and should be considered as potentially important a lead source as lead service lines themselves.”

DC WASA for some time has been at the center of controversy about levels of lead in residential tap water. One such controversy includes DC WASA’s citation of questionable research as reliable evidence that the levels of lead previously detected in the city’s water had not harmed residents, as WaterTech Online® reported.

According to DC WASA, the utility has made significant progress citywide in reducing drinking water lead levels “far below” the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulatory requirements. The HDR study was one effort by DC WASA to ensure reduced lead in its drinking water.

According to Charles Kiely, assistant general manager for consumer services, “We take lead levels seriously, and there are several remedies outlined in the HDR report for residents in the District with galvanized pipes, who have or had lead service lines.”

The report recommends that to fully ensure lead is not released from galvanized plumbing, full home replacement of that plumbing is the most desirable option.

However, given the high expense of pipe replacement, an NSF/ANSI-certified filter that removes lead at the tap, or a pitcher filter, are also acceptable alternatives, the report stated.

According to DC WASA, there are national implications in the study’s results since many older cities throughout the country continue to supply drinking water through lead service lines connected to galvanized plumbing.

UTICA, NY — Drinking water fountains and faucets in nine of this city’s elementary schools have been shut down due to high levels of lead in drinking water, The Observer-Dispatch of Utica reported October 13.

The Utica City School District undertook the voluntary testing of the lead levels in the drinking water at its elementary schools in August.

Testing revealed that out of 230 source outlets tested, 65 tested positive for lead, Superintendent James Willis said in a statement.

The 50 drinking fountains and 15 water faucets have been tagged and are shut off until replacements are installed. New outlets are expected to be in place by December 1, the report said.

NEW YORK — People who consume more plain water than other beverages may have healthier diets, a new study has reported, according to an October 13 Reuters Health story.

Researchers looked at data from a national health survey of more than 12,000 Americans and found that people who drank more “plain water” tended to eat more fiber, less sugar and fewer calorie-dense foods.

The reverse was true of people who relied on other beverages to make up their fluid intake, Reuters Health said, quoting a report of the study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Lead Researcher Dr. Ashima K. Kant, a professor at Queens College of the City University of New York, told Reuters Health that while the findings do not prove that drinking water makes for healthier eaters, they do suggest a connection — and a reason to encourage people to choose water over beverages.

what happen

This is too true to be funny.
The next time you hear a politician use the
word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about
whether you want the 'politicians' spending
YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
but one advertising agency did a good job of
putting that figure into some perspective in
one of its releases.

A.

A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B.

A billion hours ago our ancestors were
living in the Stone Age.

C.

A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth.

D.
A billion dollars ago was only
8 hours and 20 minutes,
at the rate our government
is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain...
let's take a look at New Orleans .
It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

Louisiana Senator,
Mary Landrieu (D)
is presently asking
Congress for
250
BILLION DOLLARS
to rebuild
New Orleans . Interesting number...
what does it mean?

A.

Well.... if you are one of the 484,674 residents of
New Orleans
(every man, woman, and child)
you each get
$516,528.

B.

Or... if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets
$1,329,787..

C.

Or... if you are a family of four...
your family gets
$2,066,012.

Military Pay

This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' editorial piece in the Washington Post about MILITARY PAY, it should be printed in all newspapers across America ...

Ms. Cindy Williams wrote a piece for the Washington Post, denouncing the pay raise(s) coming service members' way this year citing that she stated 13% wage increase was more than they deserve.

A young airman from Hill AFB responds to her article below. He ought to get a bonus for this.

"Ms Williams:

I just had the pleasure of reading your column, "Our GIs earn enough" and I am a bit confused. Frankly, I'm wondering where this vaunted overpayment is going, because as far as I can tell, it disappears every month between DFAS (The Defense Finance and Accounting Service) and my bank account. Checking my latest earnings statement I see that I make $1,117.80 before taxes per month. After taxes, I take home $874.20. When I run that through the calculator, I come up with an annual salary of $13,413.60 before taxes, and $10,490.40, after.

I work in the Air Force Network Control Center where I am part of the team responsible for a 5,000 host computer network I am involved with infrastructure segments, specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. A quick check under jobs For Network Technicians in the Washington , D.C. area reveals a position in my career field, requiring three years experience with my job. Amazingly, this job does NOT pay $13,413.60 a year. No, this job is being offered at $70,000 to $80,000 per annum........... I'm sure you can draw the obvious conclusions.

Given the tenor of your column, I would assume that you NEVER had ;the pleasure of serving your country in her armed forces.

Before you take it upon yourself to once more castigate congressional and DOD leadership for attempting to get the families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN ; I leave the choice of service branch up to you. Whatever choice you make, though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest

possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience."

As your group prepares to board the plane, make sure to note the spouses and children who are saying good-bye to their loved ones. Also take care to note that several families are still unsure of how they'll be able to make ends meet while the primary breadwinner is gone obviously they've been squandering the "vast" piles of cash the government has been giving them.

Try to deploy over a major holiday; Christmas and Thanksgiving are perennial favorites. And when you're actually over there, sitting in a foxhole, shivering against the cold desert night; and the flight sergeant tells you that there aren't enough people on shift to relieve you for chow, remember this: trade whatever MRE (meal-ready- to-eat) you manage to get for the tuna noodle casserole or cheese tortellini, and add Tabasco to everything. This gives some flavor.

Talk to your loved ones as often as you are permitted; it won't nearly be long enough or often enough, but take what you can get and be thankful for it. You may have picked up on the fact that I disagree with most of the points you present in your opened piece.

But, tomorrow from KABUL , I will defend to the death your right to say it.

You see, I am an American fighting man, a guarantor of your First Amendment rights and every other right you cherish. On a daily basis, my brother and sister soldiers worldwide ensure that you and people like you can thumb your collective nose at us, all on a salary that is nothing short of pitiful and under conditions that would make most people cringe We hemorrhage our best and brightest into the private sector because we can't offer the stability and pay of civilian companies.

And you, Ms. Williams, have the gall to say that we make more than we deserve? Rubbish!
A1C Michael Bragg Hill AFB AFNCC

IF YOU AGREE, PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT OF THE AMERICAN FIGHTING MEN AND WOMEN.

THANK YOU.

Should polluters trade emissions allowances?Trade permits to pollute?

In the next few months, the Senate will consider a sweeping effort to cap the greenhouse gases scientists say cause climate change. If the legislation is signed into law, it would transform the U.S. economy and revolutionize the way energy is produce and consumed. The details of a climate bill — and its ultimate fate in Congress — rest with a group of moderate lawmakers who fear that regulating emissions from fossil fuels could hurt their home state economies.

Visit the Congress.org home page to read a rundown of the proposed cap and trade bill or to write your senators.

The Never-on-the-Ballot Caucus

A quick trivia question: Who are the top unelected officials in Washington?
The Supreme Court? The president's Cabinet? The Federal Reserve?
How about the six members of the U.S. Senate who were appointed, rather than elected, to their jobs?
That's a record number of appointed Senators in modern history -- a byproduct of constitutional politics and dumb luck. And there could be more by the end of the year.

This group could have a profound influence on public policy, with big votes on major legislation on the near horizon, and the sheer number of them as has set off a debate about the best way to replace a departing U.S. Senator.

How to call Congress for free

Is calling Congress racking up long-distance charges on your phone bill?

One interesting quirk about the U.S. Capitol is that there are no official toll-free lines to the Congressional switchboard.

That means you foot the bill most times you call the official number (202-224-3121 for the Senate; 202-224-3121 for the House) with a question or concern for your elected officials.

But toll-free lines offered by different lobbyist groups present a free alternative to calling the official Congressional numbers.

Some members also foot the bill for their constituents calls.
